Yard Waste and Brush Collection
The Village of Poynette offers services, with limitations, to residents who need to dispose of yard waste and other similar refuse. This includes tree limbs, branches, brush, bagged grass, bagged leaves and garden waste.
Brush and Bag Collection - The Public Works Department offers curbside collection of yard waste the first Monday of each month between April and November. Yard waste left out must meet the requirements set forth in the Brush and Bag Collection Policy linked on the left sidebar of this web page or risk not being picked up. These requirements include the timing of when materials can be set out, type of materials allowed and size/quantity of materials left out. Please read this policy carefully. PLEASE NOTE: EFFECTIVE WITH THE AUGUST 5, 2019 COLLECTION THE VILLAGE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT PLASTIC BAGS. ALL MATERIALS MUST BE IN A COMPOSTABLE BAG.
Burn Site - The Village of Poynette operates a "burn site" off Academy Street. The burn site is accessible by checking out a key from the Village Hall during business hours (M-F 8am to 4:30pm). This is a self-service facility. Brush, leaves and garden debris are the only items allowed. Please review the Burn Site Policy on the left sidebar of this web page.
Fall Leaf Collection - The Public Works Department will conduct curbside pick up of bagged leaves the first three Monday of November. Please review the Brush and Bag Collection Policy linked on the left sidebar of this web page for more information.
Christmas/Holiday Tree Pickup - Collection of trees occurs on the first and second Mondays of January. Trees need to be placed out by 7:00 am of the scheduled collection date. Collection is subject to weather conditions.
