COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE FOR VILLAGE OF POYNETTE - UPDATED 3/19/20 @ 10:11 AM
The Village of Poynette is continuing to monitor the status of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. The following measures have been taken regarding the Village of Poynette’s departments, programs and services.
VILLAGE HALL GENERAL INQUIRIES/PAYMENTS:
All face-to-face and in-person visits to Village government buildings are highly discouraged. We are looking to limit the potential exposure to protect staff and the general public. This will also help us maintain our ability to continue providing essential services.
If you have a general service inquiry or need assistance from Village staff or a consultant, please call or email rather than visit. We can be reached at 608-635-2122 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We likely can complete your request or transaction without in-person interactions.
If you are looking to make a Village payment, please contact Village Hall offices by phone to discuss options that would avoid face-to-face contact. Options may include on-line payments or use of the 24/7 dropbox located outside the Main Street entrance to Village Hall (106 S Main Street).

The State of Wisconsin has issued an order banning gatherings of 10 or more people across the State on March 17th. We will not allow any scheduled rentals at Village Hall until this order is rescinded. We will be contacting individuals affected by this order and issue refunds.
WATER METER CHANGEOUTS
The Poynette Water Utility will not be scheduling any water meter changes in homes/businesses during this time.
SPRING CLEAN UP DAY
The Village cancelled the annual Spring Clean Up Day including Drug Take Back and the Shred-It Truck scheduled for Saturday, April 25th. Please stay tuned as this will be evaluated over the coming days and weeks. We are looking at rescheduling.
POYNETTE AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY
In light of the recent closing of schools and businesses in Wisconsin, effective Tuesday, March 17th, the Poynette Area Public Library building will be closed to the public through at least Sunday, April 5th. This date is subject to change, depending on the duration of the school closures. All of our programs have been cancelled until further notice.
We take our role as a community gathering place very seriously, but we must observe the best health and safety practices for all of our community members, patrons and library staff. In order to be responsive to mandated measures for preventing the spread of COVID-19, our library building is closed. However, staff is available to take your call between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Please note, we are no longer receiving delivery service, so your items will remain on hold until service resumes. Feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns. We sincerely appreciate your patience during this difficult situation.
