COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update for Village of Poynette (Updated 5/27/2020)

COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE FOR VILLAGE OF POYNETTE (UPDATE 5/27/2020)

VILLAGE HALL/POLICE STATION/VILLAGE FACILITIES GENERAL INQUIRIES/PAYMENTS:

The Village Hall, Police Station, and all other Village facilities are closed to the public until July 13th.  The Village Board intends to reevaluate these closures at their meeting on that date.

If you have a general service inquiry or need assistance from Village staff or a consultant, please call or email.  We can be reached at 608-635-2122 or clerk@poynette-wi.gov. We likely can complete your request or transaction without in-person interactions.  If necessary, in-person appointment can be scheduled.

The Police Department can be reached at their non-emergency number: 608-635-2588.

If you are looking to make a Village payment, please contact Village Hall offices by phone to discuss options that would avoid face-to-face contact. Options may include on-line payments or use of the 24/7 dropbox located outside the Main Street entrance to Village Hall (106 S Main Street).

PARKS / SPLASH PAD

Park bathrooms have been re-opened.  The Public Works crew will complete daily cleaning and sanitizing.  Village parks, trails, courts, fields, and playground equipment remain available for public use.

The Valley View Park Splash Pad will remain off until July 13th.  The Village Board intends to reassess this service at their meeting on that date.

MOVIES IN THE PARK

The June 5th Movies in the Park at Pauquette Park is cancelled.

BURN SITE

The Village Burn Site off Academy Street will re-open on Monday, June 1st.  The site will be opened daily Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm until further notice.  No key required.  The site will now be monitored by camera.  The site is only for Poynette residents and the disposal of wood matter (brush, branches, twigs, and other similar yard/garden woody debris and vegetation).  Any improper disposal or abuse of the site will result in citations and restitution to the offending individual, which may lead to further closures of the site, if necessary.

VILLAGE HALL RENTALS / PARK SHELTER RESERVATIONS

We will not allow any scheduled rentals at Village Hall or park shelters until July 13th.  The Village Board will reassess at that time.

WATER METER CHANGEOUTS

The Poynette Water Utility will not be scheduling any water meter changes in homes/businesses during this time, unless in an emergency.

SPRING CLEAN UP DAY

The Village cancelled the annual Spring Clean Up Day including Drug Take Back and the Shred-It Truck scheduled for Saturday, April 25th.  Please stay tuned as this event will likely be rescheduled for the fall.

JOINT MUNICIPAL COURT

The regularly scheduled April and May court dates at Village Hall have been cancelled.  The court intends to meet again on June 1st in the Poynette Civic Hall.

VILLAGE HALL FOOD PANTRY

The Food Pantry at Village Hall is operating with curb side pickup.  If you have any questions, please call 608-316-0563.
